Practice English Speaking by Talking about Likes and Dislikes

Here are some engaging questions with sample answers that delve into various aspects of things you Like and Dislike.

  • What kind of music do you like? What don’t you like? Why?

I’m a big fan of English music! The melodies are so beautiful and emotional. I love the traditional instruments. I also enjoy listening to modern singers, like Arianna Grande and Taylor Swift.

I’m not a huge fan of heavy metal or very loud music. I find it a bit jarring and overwhelming. I also don’t really like music with a lot of repetitive lyrics.

  • Can you name some singers or groups that you dislike?

It’s a little hard to say I dislike any singer entirely, but there are some whose music I don’t connect with.  I guess I could say I’m not a fan of some of the more pop-oriented Western singers who focus on catchy beats over meaningful lyrics.

  • Do you like movies? Why or why not?

I love movies!  They’re a great way to escape reality for a couple of hours and experience different worlds. I love getting lost in a good story, especially if it’s about love, adventure, or social issues.

  • Who are your favorite actors? Why do you like them?

I really admire actors like Leonardo Dicaprio and Meryl Streep. They’re so talented and versatile. They can disappear into their roles and make you feel like you’re right there with them in the story.

  • What are your favorite kinds of movies?

I love romantic comedies, historical dramas, and science fiction movies. I also enjoy watching documentaries and independent films that tell unique stories.

  • Is it important to have many similar Likes and Dislikes with your intimate partner? why?

I think it’s important to have some shared interests with your partner, but it’s not the most important thing. Having similar likes and dislikes can make it easier to plan activities together and have fun, but different interests can also be enriching. A relationship is about respecting each other’s individuality and finding common ground.

  • Do you pick your best friends based on similar Likes and Dislikes? Why or why not?

With my best friends, I definitely share some similar likes, but it’s not a dealbreaker. We have different interests and personalities, which makes our friendship more diverse and interesting. I value friendship based on trust, support, and shared values, not just similar likes.

  • Do you like sports? Why or why not?

I’m not really a sports person. I don’t have a favorite team or sport, but I do appreciate the athleticism and dedication of athletes. I’d rather watch a good movie or read a book than watch a game.

  • What are 3 activities you like most to do?

Reading:  I love getting lost in a good book! It’s a great way to relax and escape reality.

Traveling:  Exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people is so exciting!

Spending time with loved ones:  I love spending time with my family and friends.

  • What are 3 things you dislike most in life?

Injustice: I hate seeing people being treated unfairly.

Pollution:  It’s heartbreaking to see the negative impact humans have on the environment.

Dishonesty:  I value honesty and transparency in all my relationships.
