1- Left a bad taste in my mouth= Created a negative or unpleasant memory or impression.
The rude way the manager handled my complaint really left a bad taste in my mouth.
2- Swallow your pride= To accept something humiliating or admit you were wrong.
I think you’ll just have to swallow your pride and accept their help.
3- Bit my head off= Spoke to me angrily or snapped at me unexpectedly.
I only asked a simple question, but she bit my head off!
4- Something to get my teeth into= A task or project that is challenging and engaging.
This new marketing project is finally something to get my teeth into.
5- Digest= To fully understand or absorb information.
There was so much information in the presentation that I needed time to digest it all.
6- A second bite at the cherry= A second chance to do something.
After failing the exam once, he was lucky to get a second bite at the cherry.
7- Have your cake and eat it= To enjoy two desirable but usually incompatible things at the same time.
You can’t expect to work less and earn more, you can’t have your cake and eat it.
8- Bite off more than you can chew= To take on more responsibility than one can handle.
She bit off more than she could chew by agreeing to lead three committees at once.
9- I could eat a horse= I am extremely hungry
I skipped breakfast and lunch, I could eat a horse right now!
10- I’ve got a sweet tooth= I love chocolates and other sweets.
I love sugary food, especially sweets and desserts.
12- It’s not my taste= I don’t like it.
That horror movie was well-made, but it’s not my taste.
