Use the word “skinny” to describe people or things that are thin. To be skinny is the opposite of fat.
- He’s got skinny legs.
- Skinny people can fit into tight-fitting clothing.
- If you are skinny, you might not be eating enough.
- The doctor told Vanessa she needed to put on more weight because she was becoming too skinny.
- Fashion models are notoriously skinny.
- Skinny arms don’t look good on a man.
- A person who is “all skin and bones” is too skinny. (“All skin and bones” is an expression.)
This word is also used to describe things:
- Skinny jeans are popular among young people.
- Skinny ties were popular with men in the 1980s.
- The opening to the cave is too skinny for most people to get through.
