In this seventh grammar lesson, you learn about Present Tense in English and how to use it in your English conversation and writing. Just follow examples and write them down a few times to learn them very well. After finishing this lesson, you should work on its quiz.

The Present Tense

Singular

Examples
You study English every day.
He studies English at school.
They study English on Mondays and Thursdays.
The Present Tense describes the things you do every day. Note the use of an “s” at the end of the verb when describing a man, a woman, or a thing.
Do not confuse the present tense with the simple form.
Here’s the present tense for the verb “work.”

do + not + verb

Singular
I do not work

Plural
We do not work

Contractions:
do + not = don’t
does + not = doesn’t
