1- Do you enjoy meeting new people? Why or why not?

Yes, I do enjoy meeting new people. It gives me a chance to learn different perspectives and sometimes even discover something new about myself. It can be refreshing to connect with someone from a different background. I like the spontaneity of conversations with new people. It keeps things interesting and sometimes leads to unexpected opportunities.

2- What are some good things to ask someone you just met? How do you decide what’s appropriate to ask?

I usually ask simple and open questions like “What do you do?” or “How do you spend your free time?” It helps keep the conversation light and gives room for the other person to share what they’re comfortable with. I decide what’s appropriate by paying attention to their tone and body language. If they seem open and friendly, I might get a bit more personal. But I always try to keep it respectful.

3- What are some things you shouldn’t ask people you just met? Why?

You shouldn’t ask about money, religion, politics, or personal relationships right away. These topics can be too sensitive and might make someone uncomfortable. It’s better to build trust first. If someone wants to share those things, they will naturally do it when the time is right. First impressions matter, so being too forward can backfire.

4- Are you nervous when you’re introduced to someone new? What usually makes you nervous?

Sometimes I do get nervous, especially in formal settings. I think it’s the pressure of making a good impression or not knowing what to say. I overthink what the other person might think of me. But once the conversation starts flowing, the nerves usually fade. A smile and a deep breath help a lot.

5- What are some ways to overcome being nervous about meeting new people? Can you share a strategy?
One way I overcome nervousness is by reminding myself that most people feel the same way. I also prepare a few easy topics to talk about in case things get quiet. Asking questions helps shift the focus to the other person, which makes it easier for me. Also, I try to focus on enjoying the moment rather than worrying about being perfect.

6- Where are some good places to meet people? Do you prefer online or face-to-face interactions?
Good places to meet people include community events, classes, cafes, or even social media groups with shared interests. I like face-to-face interactions more because they feel more personal and real. But online interactions are great for breaking the ice. Both have their pros, and I think it depends on the situation and purpose.

7- How important are first impressions to you? Why or why not?
First impressions matter to me, but I also believe people deserve a second chance. Sometimes nerves or bad timing can affect how someone comes off. I try to stay open-minded. But yes, how someone speaks, listens, or carries themselves does make an impact. It’s like the starting point of trust.

8- What do you do if you forget the name of someone you’ve just been introduced to? How do you handle it?
If I forget someone’s name, I usually admit it politely like, “I’m so sorry, could you remind me of your name again?” Most people understand it happens to everyone. I try to use their name a couple of times after that to help it stick. It’s better to ask than to keep pretending you remember. Honesty keeps things smooth.

9- What kind of people do you like to meet? Can you describe it?
I like meeting people who are curious, kind, and open to conversation. I enjoy talking to those who are passionate about something, even if it’s different from my interests. It’s fun to hear people talk about what excites them. Good vibes and mutual respect go a long way. A sense of humor is a plus too.

10- Who was the last new person you met and where did you meet them? What did you talk about?

The last new person I met was a fellow volunteer at a local event last weekend. We met while setting up tables for a book donation drive. We chatted about our favorite books, what brought us there, and future volunteering plans. It was easy going and enjoyable. We even exchanged contacts to join another event next month.
