1- A memory like a sieve = To easily forget things.
I forgot her name again, I’ve got a memory like a sieve.
2- It jogs my memory = Something helps you remember something you had forgotten.
Seeing her old school uniform really jogs my memory of our high school days.
3- Refresh my memory = Help me remember something.
Could you refresh my memory about what we agreed on last week?
4- Rings a bell = Sounds familiar.
His name rings a bell, but I can’t quite place him
5- A good memory for faces = Able to remember people’s faces easily.
She has a good memory for faces, even if she can’t remember names.
6- A photographic memory = The ability to remember things in great detail.
He has a photographic memory and can recall every page of the book.
7- In living memory = During the lifetime of people still alive.
This is the coldest winter in living memory.
8- Bear it in mind = Remember or consider something.
Bear it in mind that we have a meeting at 3 p.m.
9- Mind goes blank = To suddenly forget everything.
I stepped on stage and my mind went blank.
10- Escape me = You can’t remember it at the moment.
Her name escapes me right now, but I’ll remember it later.
11- Learned by heart = Memorized something perfectly.
I learned the poem by heart for the recital.
