Shantel: Hello.
Jim: Let’s play a game.
Shantel: Okay.
Jim: Can you guess the famous person?
Shantel: Let’s play.
Jim: Okay, person number one. She is American, she is a singer, she is young, she is about 25 years old, and now she is very famous. Her hair is blonde and she is very cute and very pretty.
Shantel: Hmm. Is it Taylor Swift?
Jim: Yes, correct. Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding.
Shantel: Woo!
Jim: Okay, so the next person is also very famous, he is from Argentina. He is a soccer player, he is very good at sports, and he is on a team in Spain.
Shantel: On a team in Spain?
Jim: Yeah, he is very good. He is a little short, but he is quick, he is very fast.
Shantel: Hmm. I don’t watch soccer so much, but is it Cristiano Ronaldi?
Jim: No. It is Lionel Messi.
Shantel: Ooh, I don’t know who he is.
Jim: Oh no. Ronaldo is the rival of Lionel Messi.
Shantel: I see.
Jim: Okay, so 1-1. Alright, ready? Next one. This person is from Hong Kong, he is older, he is my age, about 50, maybe older. He is good at martial arts, he is in many movies.
Shantel: Okay.
Jim: Oh, also he is funny, he is very funny.
Shantel: Is it Jackie Chan?
Jim: Yes, correct. Ding-ding-ding.
Shantel: Yay!
Jim: Okay, so now let’s switch. You ask me.
Shantel: Okay. This person is a woman, she is American, and she is a very famous singer in the United States and in the world. She is married to a very famous rapper. Do you know who she is?
Jim: Is she Beyonce?
Shantel: Yes, very good.
Jim: Bing-bing-bing-bing.
Shantel: She is Beyonce.
Jim: Oh, nice.
Shantel: Okay, are you ready for the next person?
Jim: I’m ready.
Shantel: He is a Jamaican and he runs really fast.
Jim: Okay, he is fast, he’s from Jamaica.
Shantel: Mm-hmm (affirmative), and he is so fast he joined the Olympics and won many times.
Jim: Is he a gold medal winner?
Shantel: He is a gold medal winner.
Jim: Oh, I know.
Shantel: Who is it?
Jim: It is Usian Bolt.
Shantel: Correct.
Jim: Yay!
Shantel: Ding-ding-ding.
Jim: Thanks, Shantel.

Subject Pronouns
Point 1: Subject pronouns take the place of a person or person’s name.
Sally is a farmer. She works outside.
Bob is a doctor. He works at a hospital.
Bob and Sally are married. They have one child.
They have a house. It is really big.
We like them. You will too!
Point 2: The first person subject pronoun (I, we) refers to the speaker. It can be singular (S) or plural (P).
(S) I have a pool.
(S) I swim every day
(P) We love Italian food.
(P) We eat it often.
Point 3: The second person subject pronoun (you) refers to the listener. It can be singular (S) or plural (P).
(S) You are nice.
(S) You should come.
(P) You (all) can sit down.
(P) You (guys) should come.
Point 4: The third person subject pronoun (he, she, it, they) refers a person, people, thing or things.
I like Bob. He is nice.
I also like Sue. She is funny.
Bob and Sue are married. They have one child.
They have a house. It is really big and nice.
They have two cars. They rarely drive them.
