A day is a 24-hour period that measures the passage of time. This word also refers to the time that occurs between sunrise and sunset.

- There are 24 hours in a day.

There are many expressions that include the word “day.”

- We’ll be ready to go on day one. (day one = the first day in a period of time)
- An apple a day keeps the doctor away. (If you eat healthy food regularly, such as an apple, you aren’t as likely to get sick.)
