Adjectives

Adjectives are words that describe nouns and pronouns.

صفت ها کلماتی هستن که اسم ها و ضمایر رو توصیف می کنن.

This is an old radio.

این یک رادیو قدیمیه.

The word “old” is an adjective.

کلمه “قدیمی” یک صفته.

This is a hungry cat. The word “hungry” is an adjective.

این یک گربه گرسنه است. کلمه “گرسنه” یک صفته.

The banana is yellow. The word “yellow” is an adjective.

موز زرد است. کلمه زرد یک صفته.

His glass is empty.

لیوانش خالیه.

The word “empty” is an adjective.

کلمه خالی یک صفته.

Are you aware of the news?

آیا از اخبار مطلع هستی؟

The word “aware” is an adjective.

کلمه آگاه یک صفته.

She‘s Japanese. The word “Japanese” is an adjective.

او ژاپنی است. کلمه “ژاپنی” یک صفته.

These adjectives are used to describe emotions and feelings:

این صفت ها برای توصیف عواطف و احساسات استفاده می شن:

In English, adjectives usually go before a noun, but they sometimes appear after a noun if using the verb “be” as in the examples above. The banana is yellow.

در زبان انگلیسی، صفت‌ها معمولاً قبل از اسم قرار می‌گیرن، اما در صورت استفاده از فعل «be» مانند مثال‌های بالا، گاهی اوقات بعد از اسم ظاهر می‌شن. موز زرد است.

This is a yellow banana.

این یک موز زرد است.

This is a banana yellow

این یک زرد موزی است (غلط)

English adjectives also don’t take a plural form. They’re always singular. That’s easy! The only time an adjective changes is in the comparative

صفت های انگلیسی جمع بسته نمیشن. همیشه تک هستند. آسونه نه! تنها زمانی که یک صفت تغییر می کنه در حالت مقایسه ایشه.
