حروف ربط

Conjunctions are useful in putting nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and clauses together when making sentences. There are seven coordinating conjunctions: and, but, or, nor, for, yet, so.

حروف ربط برای در کنار هم قرار دادن اسم ها، افعال، صفت ها، قیدها و بندها در هنگام ساختن جمله مفید هستن. هفت پیوند هماهنگ کننده وجود دارد: و، اما، یا، نه، برای، هنوز، بنابراین.

I like to eat cheese and crackers.

من دوست دارم پنیر و کراکر بخورم.

Use “and” when putting two or more things or people together in a group.

هنگام قرار دادن دو یا چند چیز یا افراد در یک گروه از “و” استفاده کنید.

Hockey is a fun sport, but sometimes you can fall and hurt yourself.

هاکی یک ورزش سرگرم کننده است، اما گاهی اوقات ممکنه زمین بخورید و به خودتون آسیب بزنید.

“But” is a word that shows contrast or differences. Hockey is fun, but it is also a little dangerous. Fun but dangerous

“اما” کلمه ای است که تضاد یا تفاوت رو نشان می ده. هاکی سرگرم کننده است، اما کمی خطرناک نیز هست. سرگرم کننده اما خطرناک

Would you like to eat a hotdog or a hamburger?

دوست داری هات داگ بخورید یا همبرگر؟

“Or” provides you with a choice or a decision.

“یا” یک انتخاب یا تصمیم رو فراهم می کنه.

She eats neither hotdogs nor hamburgers. She prefers vegetables.

او نه هات داگ می خوره و نه همبرگر. او سبزیجات رو ترجیح می ده.

“Nor” is the negative form of “or.” It’s often used with “neither.”
…neither…..nor…..

“نه” شکل منفی “یا” است. اغلب با “هیچکدام” استفاده می شود.

…نه این و نه آن…..

He went to prison, for he had killed someone.

او به زندان رفت، زیرا کسی را کشته بود.

“For” is very similar to “because” and “since.” This is a difficult conjunction to use. It sounds very formal.

“برای” بسیار شبیه به “چون” و “از آنجایی” هست. استفاده از این ترکیب کمی سخته. خیلی رسمی به نظر می رسه.

It’s cold outside, yet these boys don’t want to go inside because they are having so much fun.

بیرون هوا سرد است، با این حال این پسرها نمی‌خوان داخل برن، چون اونها خیلی سرگرمی دارن.

“Yet” is similar to “but.” In this usage it’s not the same as the “yet” which is used to express time.

“با این حال” شبیه “اما” است. در این کاربرد، با «هنوز» که برای بیان زمان استفاده می‌شه، فرق داره.

She saw a spider, so she became afraid.

عنکبوتو دید، پس ترسید.

“So” is similar to “because” and “for” but you can’t use the word in the same position. The same sentence above could be written:

«پس» شبیه «زیرا» و «برای» است اما نمی‌تونید این کلمه رو در یک موقعیت استفاده کنین. جمله بالا رو میشه اینجوری هم نوشت:

She became afraid because she saw a spider.

چون عنکبوت رو دید ترسید.
