I don’t actually have a bicycle right now. It’s not very common to see people riding bikes in the city where I live, especially for adults. It’s mostly kids who ride bikes for fun. When I was a kid, I had a bright blue bike with a little basket on the front. I loved riding it with my friends around our neighborhood.

• Do you have a car? If so, when did you get it? How much did it cost? How often do you drive it?

My family has a car, but I don’t have my own. I think it’s quite expensive to own a car here, especially since gas prices can be pretty high. My dad drives the car most often, but my brother drives it sometimes, too.

• Do you often ride public transportation during rush hour? Why or why not?

I do take public transportation, especially during rush hour. The streets get so crowded with cars that it’s much faster to take the bus or metro. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded, but it’s usually manageable. The worst part is probably all the honking!

• What are the pros and cons of public transportation? Explain.

Pros:

Taking public transportation is much cheaper than driving a car, especially if you have a long commute. It’s usually faster to take public transportation during rush hour, especially in crowded cities. Using public transportation reduces the number of cars on the road, which helps reduce air pollution.

Cons:

Sometimes public transportation can be very crowded, especially during rush hour. It can be difficult to get to certain places if there are no buses or metro lines that go there. It’s not always the fastest way to travel, as you have to wait for buses or trains and they might not be on time.

• Have you ever been stopped for speeding? Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?

I haven’t personally been stopped for speeding or gotten a speeding ticket. I’m a pretty cautious driver when I’m behind the wheel. The traffic in the city can be pretty stressful, though! I think it’s a big problem for everyone, not just in Iran, but in many cities around the world.

• How do you think countries can reduce congestion on the roads? Explain. 

I think countries can reduce congestion on the roads by improving public transportation. Investing in more efficient and affordable public transportation systems can encourage people to leave their cars at home. Making cities more pedestrian and bicycle-friendly can make it easier and safer for people to get around without using cars. Using technology to optimize traffic flow and manage traffic lights can help reduce congestion.

• Is there any environmentally-friendly transportation in your area? 

Yes, there are some environmentally-friendly transportation options in my area.  There are electric buses and taxis, which are becoming more common. I’ve also seen a few people riding electric scooters.

• What are the most annoying bad driving habits of other drivers in your country? Explain. 

One of the most annoying driving habits I see here is people cutting in line and driving aggressively. I also think people honk way too much, even for small things.

• What do you have to do to get a driver’s license in your country? Do you think it’s a good test? Why or why not?

To get a driver’s license in Iran, you have to pass a written test and a practical driving test. You also need to be at least 18 years old. The test itself isn’t that difficult, but it’s really important to have a good understanding of the rules of the road.

• What are the pros and cons of ridesharing? 

Ridesharing apps like Tappsi and Snapp are becoming increasingly popular here. It’s a convenient and affordable way to get around, especially at night or in areas where public transportation is less available.

Pros:

It’s easy to order a ride with a few taps on your phone. It’s often cheaper than taking a taxi or driving your own car. You can choose your ride based on the car type, price, and estimated arrival time.

Cons:

There have been some safety concerns with ridesharing apps, especially for women. Ridesharing services can contribute to traffic congestion, especially in busy areas.
