The verb “do” is a helping verb. We add it to the simple form of a verb to make questions and negatives in the present tense and the past tense.
فعل “do” یک فعل کمکی است. اون رو به شکل ساده یک فعل اضافه می کنیم تا در زمان حال و زمان گذشته سؤالات و موارد منفی بسازیم.
Examples
I don’t work on the weekend. (present tense negative).
من آخر هفته کار نمی کنم (زمان حال منفی)
I didn’t work last weekend. (past tense negative)
آخر هفته پیش کار نکردم (زمان گذشته منفی)
He doesn’t like to go to the store. (present tense negative)
او دوست نداره به فروشگاه بره. (زمان حال منفی)
He didn’t like to go to the store when he was younger. (past tense negative).
وقتی جوانتر بود دوست نداشت به فروشگاه بره. (زمان گذشته منفی).
They don’t have any money. (present tense negative)
آنها هیچ پولی ندارن. (زمان حال منفی)
They didn’t have any money last week. (past tense negative.)
آنها هفته گذشته هیچ پولی نداشتند. (زمان گذشته منفی.)
Note: “Do” is also used as a main verb for activities, such as housework, cleaning, studying, research, business, and shopping.
نکته: “Do” به عنوان فعل اصلی برای فعالیت هایی مانند کارهای خانه، نظافت، مطالعه، تحقیق، تجارت و خرید هم استفاده می شود.
Examples:
I don’t do the dishes every night. I didn’t do the dishes last night.
من هر شب ظرف ها رو نمی شورم. دیشب ظرفها را نشستم.
She doesn’t do her grocery shopping at Cub. She didn’t do her grocery shopping yesterday.
اون خرید مواد غذایی خودشو در Cub انجام نمی ده. او دیروز خرید مواد غذایی خودشو انجام نداد.
They do not do their homework at the library. They didn’t do their homework last night.
اونها تکالیف خود رو توی کتابخانه انجام نمی دن. آنها دیشب تکالیف خود رو انجام ندادند.
Their company doesn’t do business in Minnesota. They never did business here.
شرکت آنها در مینه سوتا تجارت نمی کنه. آنها هرگز در اینجا تجارت نکردن.
The past tense form of “do” is “did.” Did + not = didn’t
حالت گذشته «انجام دادن» «انجام داد» است.
Examples:
I didn’t go to work yesterday.
من دیروز سر کار نرفتم.
She didn’t take the bus to work.
او با اتوبوس به سرکار نرفت.
Separating the contraction creates emphasis.
جداسازی اختصارات باعث ایجاد تاکید می شه.
Examples:
I did not want to do the dishes last night. I do not want to do them now!
دیشب نمی خواستم ظرف ها رو بشورم. من الان نمی خوام اونو انجام بدم!
He does not have his license! He never did get it!
اون گواهینامه ندارد! او هرگز اونو دریافت نکرد!
Please, do not put that hot pan on the counter!
لطفاً آن تابه داغ رو روی پیشخوان نگذار!
Never put “did” + ____ing together.
He did going to work last night. (incorrect)
دیشب رفت سر کار (غلط)
He went to work last night. ( correct )
دیشب سرکار رفت. ( درست )
